Momo, Inc., is one of China's leading mobile-based social and entertainment platforms. Momo enables users to discover new relationships, expand their social connections and build meaningful interactions. Momo connects people and facilitate interactions based on location, interests and a variety of recreational activities including live talent shows, short videos, social games as well as other video- and audio-based interactive experiences, such as live chats and mobile karaoke experience. In May 2018, Momo completed its acquisition of Tantan, a leading social and dating application for younger generation. Tantan, whose primary users consist of young Chinese singles, is designed to help its users to find and establish romantic connections, as well as meet interesting people.
Momo has built a large user base on Momo since its launch in 2011. Momo's MAUs increased to 114.5 million in December 2019 from 113.3 million in December 2018 and 99.1 million in December 2017. The increase of Momo's MAUs in 2019 was primarily attributable to the enriched product and content offerings and our marketing activities. Momo had 5.5 million paying users on our Tantan application in 2019.
